Paříž, 2005, organizovaný zločin. Claude Corti je talentovaným obchodníkem. Ví o všem, co se děje v zóně jeho vlivu. Nikdy o sobě nepochybuje, nikdy neodpouští. Je paranoik a násilník, což mu umožňuje přežít. Franck je řemeslný vrah, na kterého Claude spoléhá. Oba jsou velmi dobří profesionálové, násilní a ambiciózní.
